Have you ever known something before you could explain it? A pull towards a person, a sense that a job wasn't right, a quiet yes when everything on paper said no. That small, steady voice underneath the noise is worth getting to know.
The knowing under the noise
Life is loud. Phones, deadlines, other people's opinions and our own worries all compete for attention. Inner knowing rarely shouts over them. It tends to arrive softly, as a feeling in the body, a thought that keeps coming back, or a calm certainty that doesn't need to argue.
Many sensitive souls feel this sense strongly, yet learned early to doubt it because it didn't fit what others expected of them.
How to listen
- Make room for quiet. Even ten minutes without a screen gives that voice a chance to be heard.
- Notice your body. Tension, a sinking stomach or a sense of lightness can tell you a lot about a choice.
- Write it down. A journal helps you see the same message turning up again and again.
- Ask a simple question, such as “What do I need right now?”, and wait for the first honest answer.
Your life is speaking too
Inner knowing isn't only found in meditation. It shows up in patterns: the things that light you up, the lessons that keep repeating, the people who drift into your path at just the right moment. When you start to see your life as something that's talking to you, rather than simply happening to you, it becomes easier to trust where you're being led.
Trust grows slowly
You don't have to act on every hunch. Start small. Follow your knowing on little things, see how it turns out, and let trust build from there. Over time, you may find your soul has been gently guiding you all along.
